A group of First Nations Elders are trying to ban glyphosate, a herbicide that is used on plants and weeds in forests where these Indigenous people are using these plants for food. Elder Raymond Owl is the founder of TEK, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, a group fighting to stop the arial spray of glyphosate to protect the plants and ecology they are surounded by and stop it from poisoning their land. The Elders also explain how this herbicide is affecting not only the plants but the animals, water, and birds. We can see here Lynn White's perspective on man being the exploiter of nature for his own proper ends. This ecological crisis is important to the First Nations Elders and it is clear that they will to continue to fight and research for the well-being of the land that they share.
