A junior kindergarten teacher in the Niagra area was caught sending home a worksheet that read "Two Little Indians are eating ice cream". It then showed two little girls at the bottom of the worksheet in stereotypical indigenous clothing and feathered headbands on their heads. The worksheet went home to the parents who were Indigenous and they brought it up to the school board. The teacher is now facing disciplinary actions and it is being shared with everyone.

It is crazy how these kinds of stereotypes are still happening to this day and to see that it is happening by a teacher in kindergarten makes this all even more frightening. The terminology used was offensive as well as the stereotypical pictures used are direspectful to the Indigenous community. It goes to show how even teachers are not even well enough informed about the offensive stereotypes that are completely direspectful to the Indigenous people. Are teachers aware of what they are doing? Or are they simply just uneducated about the Indigenous cultures?
