I found this great website promoting “Must-Read Books” by Indigenous Authors! It is a great stepping stone that we are teaching more and more about Indigenous culture but since reading the books that we have in class, I find it so important to hear the voices of Indigenous people. They have beautiful stories to tell (some happy, some sad). But stories that need to be shared and more widely known. Tommy Orange’s There There has opened my eyes to the fact that anyone can have a story to share. And it is important to listen and understand in order to heal as a community and as humans.

Take a look at the list by Penguin Random House for some great inspirational reads!
