Recognition of Indigenous Culture ¶

In this article, from CBC news, the second-largest school district in the state of Minnesota has allowed Indigenous students to do smudging inside classrooms at St. Paul Public Schools. This openly accepts Indigenous people, the culture and who they are. This is a big shift, when we think about residential school who totally rejected anything that was Indigenous and representative of Indigenous culture as seen in Zitkala-Sa's memoir.
