When the news hit that the Queen had passed a large portion of the world went into mourning but it is important to recognize those who have had the opposite reaction. For the Indigenous community the Queen and the monarch represent a time in their history where oppression, racism, physical and emotion abuse began. For years, Indigenous peoples were under the control of the government which the Monarch has had a hand and continues to still have a hand in today. While there has been steps taken with between the Indigenous people and the Queen to begin the road to reconciliation. Many are still feeling the hurt and destruction in which the Queen represents. With this passing we as people need to remember that there are always two sides to a story and that everyone is entitled to react to this morning in their own way.
