Can I begin introducing indigenous perspectives through a non-indigenous book? ¶

I absolutely love the book, "It's Okay to be Different" by Todd Parr.
I think this book would be such a good resource to get to know my students better and build a safe learning environment.
However, I wonder if this book could also be used to slowly introduce culturally responsive teaching, specifically Indigenous, even though the author is non-indigenous?
