How to introduce Indigenous traditions in the classroom?

I think you should bring in an Indigenous speaker to talk a little bit about their culture. They can bring different tools to show the students. It was always more meaniful when a real Indigenous person talked about their culture, seeing things and learning them from their perspective made it feel more personal.

Bringing in a speaker is always a good idea! Also I think diving into music or art can be a great way to ease into any culture espeically indigenous culture! Another good idea could be a sharing circle with your students while introducing the concept of a "talking stick". I believe that this will allow students to connect to eachother and the teacher and feel comfortable talking and learning about new concepts and a new culture that they may not know much about.
