For my Indigenous read aloud I chose the childrens book The Pencil by Susan Avingaq. This book is based off Susan Avingaq childhood memories of living in an iglu, this story introduces the idea of using things wisely to children.

Tanna's Owl by Rachel and Sean Qitsualik-Tinsley

This is a great book that talks not only about Inuit but life in the arctic.

I also enjoyed Fishing with Grandma. Another resource is The Polar Bear Son: An Inuit Tale by Lydia Dabcovich. Dabcovich is not an Indigenous author, but she does retell an Inuit folktale. It's a very cute story for little ones.

Sweetest Kulu by Celina Kalluk. This is a great story for younger grades about an Inuit newborn child being welcomed into the world.
